The N-Tester BT is an innovative tool that helps farmers easily determine the nitrogen needs of their crops directly in the field. How It Works: The N-Tester BT measures the chlorophyll content of a plant's leaf, which reflects its nitrogen status. For the best results, readings should be taken from the middle of the youngest, fully developed leaf. After gathering 30 random measurements in a "W" pattern across the field, the N-Tester BT calculates an average value that informs how much nitrogen the crop requires.
