“The DropTale Project” (Droptale) is a social media app with the ambitious vision of making the history of every single GPSable place on earth accessible to everyone. Every structure, statue, house, archeological ruin, lake, mountain, forest, and panorama – all have a great story waiting to be told. How nature created them, how humans built them and the secrets behind the places.

A Droptale’s storyteller is called: “Droptaler”.

Droptalers you are welcomed to share your knowledge about the history of places. Tales including historical contents and narrative spirit, rather than personal experiences.

The locations related functions are driven by Google maps, then most Google maps capabilities are available.

PayPal service has been implemented in the app to allow users to tip Droptalers in recognition for a well job done. Entering a Paypal valid account is an option, not a must.

Well known touristic sites are broadly covered by all kind of written/audio/video materials, but less known sites in the world are not covered likewise. Droptale is a platform welcoming all the voices, all of you, to tell stories about all places, known and less known.

From DropTale perspective, a traveler is anyone, at any time, crossing through any site of the globe (like in a daily way to work, shopping, climbing a mountain, walking around the neighborhood, and so forth) with enough curiosity and desire to enrich the knowledge about the world surrounding us.

Droptalers can open their own channel, uploading multiple tales, making possible to search all the tales told by one given Droptaler.

Droptalers have no restrictions to promote themselves (including email accounts , mobile numbers, and/or any other type of contacts). This is very useful for travel guides or individuals making a living through all kind of touristic related channels.

A successful channel might create a streaming of cash, in the shape of tips. Investing in high quality and interesting tales might be transformed in an extra income.

- Tales can be filtered by: distance, alphabet, rating, language and uploaded time.
- Use the random “dice” icon to visit randomly any existing tale in the data base.
- Radius area function of 2.5 km (1.55 miles) to find “Around Me” stories.
