Gujarat is the 2nd largest manufacturing hub in India after Tamilnadu. But the biggest part is Gujarat's factory count rising by 82% in the last decade. And the Saurashtra region is the most important part of manufacturing and a major contributor to the state's growth. With its composition in 1963, REA (Rajkot Engineering Association) is the largest and oldest association in the Saurashtra region with 1100+ members.

The MSME entrepreneurs of this region are well-known for their engineering expertise, hard work, deep knowledge of the concerned product, and a never-say-die attitude. The REA plays a crucial role in uplifting the manufacturing activities of small and medium entrepreneurs, starting from Diesel Engine pump sets and moving on to meet the time-bound demand of various industries across all segments.

In addition to providing raw materials to its members on a "no profit, no loss" basis to boost up small and medium entrepreneurs during the short supply period, the REA also conducts workshops, seminars, and training, buyer sellers meet, etc.

The association also hosts foreign delegations from various countries who interact with members for bilateral business promotion.

The directors of the REA have representation in all state and central government agencies, such as Customs & Central Excise, Income Tax, VAT, ESIC, EPF, GPCB, and BIS, which helps members resolve their problems with government offices.

Usage: Design, Production and R&D for Submersible pumps and Electric motors.
This project was approved and financed by the MSME ministry, New Delhi and the Industry commissioner of the Gujarat government.

To facilitate marketing and export promotion, members of REA periodically visit international trade fairs of Germany, the USA, and China under the IC Scheme of MSME, which helps the members with growth production.

The REA is authorized by DGFT, New Delhi, to issue a Certificate of Origin (Non-preferential) which facilitates exporters a lot. The association has also established a Young Entrepreneurs Squad (YES) under which young and dynamic Engineers, CEOs, MDs, Owners, etc. are provided unique information on various intellectual topics related to industries for the betterment and all-round growth of industries.

REA organized an international-level exhibition called "The Big Show Rajkot-2014," held from 23 to 26 November 2014, and a National Vendor Development Programme, jointly organized with the Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India.
