Many states require individual technicians to maintain a log of their daily job information for the purpose of verifying the hours needed to test for a Journeyman license. In other states the business owner holds the license for the company but by logging your hours and site information and then getting the owner to verify those hours you would also be able to use these reports to apply for your own contractor's license should you ever relocate to a state that requires logs or if you plan to obtain your own contractor's license.
