Tim Janis is a film director and composer with two #1 Billboard charting CDs: “Music of Hope” featuring Sir Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Ray Charles, Andrea Previn, Emanuel Ax, the New York Philharmonic conducted by Kurt Mazur, and the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by David Snell; and “An American Composer in Concert” taped LIVE at Lincoln Center with the American Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Tim Janis.
Janis has six National PBS specials including “An American Composer in Concert”, “Beautiful America" and "Coastal America” narrated by George Clooney, “The American Christmas Carol” with James Earl Jones, “An Enchanted Evening” with special guest Lisa Fischer, and “Celtic Heart” with special guests Máiréad Nesbitt , Camille and Kennerly Kitt (The Harp Twins) , Irish flautist Eimear McGeown, and singers Lynn Hilary and Ella Roberts.
Janis' film directorial and screenwriting credits include “Buttons: A Christmas Tale” starring Angela Lansbury and Dick Van Dyke, with narration by Kate Winslet and Robert Redford. Featuring Abigail Spencer, Jane Seymour, Roma Downey, Katie McGrath, Ioan Gruffudd and Paul Greene the film had a wide 500-theater release in 2018 through Fathom Events, and a subsequent home video release through Paramount Pictures. Buttons: A Christmas Tale has continued its success with a 2020 release in the U.S. through the STARZ network.
