This project was born in order to be able to communicate with our students and highlight “talents” from the Caribbean area. It was launched on Monday, March 02, 2020 with the help of various teachers, students and people from the community. Radio allows us to interact with our student population and the general public.
Definition: According to the Canary Islands Digital Educational Radio, the radio is:
"Radio is the communicative medium par excellence characterized by a profound social impact and by the variety of its language."
Justification:
The creation of an online educational radio then suggests including elements of classroom teaching, the institution's responsibility to maintain contact with its students and the community. In addition to forming identity and roots in a community and different cultural manifestations, the different digital media used as: audio, programs with specific themes, podcasts, blogs, videos and publications on different social networks. Also the element of immediate “interactivity” is part of the many possibilities within the online radio format. The teacher takes the classroom to where the student is in the form of audio, mp3, video or Facebook live. In these moments in which the world is experiencing a Pandemic and social distancing, online radio is necessary, it becomes an ideal medium to strengthen the bond between the institution, students, parents and the community.
Currently, with the alert situation that was announced in the country, radio has been an educational resource. A new program called Let's Talk about Music was created, in which the three teachers from the music education department conduct a talk with examples, activities and concepts, based on the study plans of each level in secondary school, so students can listen to the subject according to their level and at the same time clarify doubts through the different networks.

Radio Objectives.

to. Develop a program aimed at our students in various subjects to strengthen formative learning from their homes.
b. Create alliances with public or private entities to improve radio content.
c. Form an interdisciplinary working group with defined roles in the technical, content and production of radio programs.
d. Include students, teachers and people from the community as part of the online radio voices.
and. Promote spaces for discussion on important topics for our student population with the help of specialists or special guests.
F. Disseminate the use of online radio from their mobile phones or computers.
g. Boosting the talent of the area within the content of online radio.
h. Create educational mini-capsules prepared by the teachers of the institution as part of the online radio programming.
i. Prepare students, teachers and others who want to be part of the radio in basic knowledge to ensure access to have their voice on online radio.
j. Publish content on the different online radio platforms that are of interest to the community.
k. Provide basic resources to people who want to participate in online radio.
l. Disclose all information that the student community needs to know from the MEP, the institution or the Government on online radio and their social networks.
m. Define the short, medium and long term objectives of online radio.
n. Create a plan with the help of teachers, administrative staff, students and people from the community to give a defined profile to radio as its mission and vision
