Slank is an Indonesian music group formed by Bimbim on December 26 1983 because he was bored of being a cover band (a band that sang songs from other singers or bands) and had the desire to create and perform their own songs. In the end, Slank became one of the influential music groups in Indonesia.
This band, which started to grow in the 90s, was originally called Cikini Stones Complex (CSC). The name means a music group consisting of children from Cikini College High School, Jakarta. CSC was formed in 1986 and consists of Bimo Setiawan (drums), Boy (guitar), Kiki (guitar), Abi (bass), Uti (vocals), and Well Welly (vocals). Until 1996, the band experienced personnel changes more than 10 times.

After repeated personnel changes, the band finally had a definite formation consisting of Bimbim (drums), Kaka (vocals), Ivanka (bass), Ridho (guitar), and Abdee (guitar). At first they only played songs by idol musicians like the Rolling Stones. However, over time, they began to work by playing their own original songs. Its slengean style, aka relaxed, sober, and cool on stage, made this band finally known as the Slank band. Slank combines POP, ROCK N ROLL, BLUES, and ethnicity which is the color of Slank's music.
