We are the first Black, locally owned and operated FM radio station in the Shoals area. Our music format consists of Old and New School R&B, Hip Hop, Rap, Southern Soul, Blues and Gospel. We are an excellent team of broadcast professionals; committed to providing the highest level of client satisfaction to our loyal listeners. We have three amazing syndicated shows airing daily with Steve Harvey, D. L. Hughley and Keith Sweat.
Our Regional Coverage area reaches the following Alabama Counties of Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale and Lawrence. The Tennessee Counties in our coverage area are Hardin, Lawrence and Wayne. We also cover the County of Tishomingo in Mississippi. There are currently 178,840 people residing in Colbert, Franklin and Lauderdale Counties.

WKAX, informally known as 1500 AM Russellville, Alabama is a 24 Gospel radio station that broadcasts in the Russellville and Shoals area on the 1500 AM frequency. It can also be heard over the internet, by accessing its live streaming service.
It has a traditional and new school religious formats and its programming is dedicated to lifting up the name of Jesus. It also offers live entertainment shows, contests in which it gives away prizes to radio listeners and short informative spaces with the main current news, and sports. Together with our sister station 105.1 We are the Music Muscle of the Shoals.
