There is a version that the first airship was designed not in France, but in Ancient Greece. But at present there is no confirmation of this. Therefore, it is considered that everything started with the first flight in a hot air balloon in 1783, which was made by the famous Montgolfier brothers. The apparatus consisted of a basket and a spherical shell, which was filled with heated air. The hot air balloon interested many people and became a real sensation, so the hot air balloon fever soon began. Inspired by the idea of ​​a hot air balloon, the French mathematician Charles Meneut, who is considered the "father" of airships, developed his own unique project of an airship. The design of the device was identical to the air layer, but it had the shape of an ellipsoid. Three propellers were installed on board, which were driven by the effort of 80 people. But, in 1793, Meunier, unfortunately, died, so his project remained on paper and was not implemented.
