The term purity includes two definitions:
Purity linguistically: it is the source of the verb purify, and it means goodness and cleanliness, so when it is said to purify the thing, i.e. clean, and purify the man, i.e., to walk away from any defilement that afflicted him, and he became pure, and among them is the purity of the soul, i.e. ridding it of what may befall it of hatred, envy, or other Impurities that affect the heart and spoil it.
Purity idiomatically: It is as defined by Islamic law that it is the washing of certain organs according to a special characteristic, which is also the removal of impurity and filth, and the removal of impurity, and it is by washing, ablution, or tayammum.
And the rule of purity falls under the duty, the Almighty said: (And purify your clothes), and purity from impurity is obligatory for the Muslim so that he can perform the prayer, and the evidence for that is what was stated in the following noble hadith: (Abdullah bin Omar entered Ibn Amer to visit him while he was sick, and he said: Don’t you pray to God Eh For me, Ibn Omar?
