Tracks - Stories for passengers is an application that allows you to listen to immersive stories set in the border areas between Italy and Slovenia, on the means of transport of Friuli Venezia-Giulia and Primorska.
Travelling on the trains, buses and coaches that cross these Alpe Adria areas, you can listen to different stories, some from the past, some from the future, some true and some fictional. Each story is designed to be listened to along a specific route, but in the desire to spread the stories of this area far and wide, you can listen to them wherever you are.
The content is the result of research carried out in the area, based on its history, culture, chronicles and traditions, and has been written by Italian and Slovenian authors in order to immerse the listener as much as possible. The stories are inspired by the history of the railways and buses of the Alpe Adria region and the passengers who travelled through this land. Throughout the sound journey you will be invited to use everyday objects, perform small actions and move around the space you find yourself in. The journey will be a bit like going to the theatre, but instead of the stage, the scenery and the passengers will open up. Through the content created by the artists, you will be taken on a journey that is nothing short of astonishing, hovering between the real and the surreal. The space around you will come alive, populate and deform. You will become both spectator and protagonist, while passers-by and the landscape will become unwitting actors in an unprecedented production.
Tracks wants to use the smartphone as a new narrative medium to allow the traveller to listen to the works along the public transport routes, redefining and enriching them from an experiential point of view. Passing through different cities in Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Slovenia, the travellers will discover different places and stories, a journey within a journey.
