Damares Alves Bezerra de Oliveira, known artistically as Damares, is a Brazilian gospel singer born in Umuarama, in the state of Paraná, on January 30, 1980. Her career in gospel music began when she was still a child, singing in churches and local events.

Damares gained prominence on the Brazilian gospel scene in the 2000s, and since then, has become one of the most well-known and respected voices in this segment.
