One of the things that is very influential in determining the meaning or intent of a sentence is a matter of context. By knowing the context, we can understand the intent and direction of a conversation. Conversely, if we do not know the context of a word or sentence, then there may be many different understandings.

In studying the science of the Koran, the context in question is none other than the siyaq of the Koran. This is a branch of Al-Quran sciences which is very, very important to study, where mufassirin scholars are never out of context when giving interpretations of the holy words of Allah SWT.

Rasulullah SAW also explained many verses of the Koran, often using context or siyaq, so that friends and people who read the Koran were made easier to understand the meaning and content of the verses that were not known before.

There are so many sayings of Rasulullah SAW that are difficult to understand, if we don't know the context. For example, when he said:

Water is from water

It is very difficult for us to understand what those three short and short words mean. Water from water. But if we understand the context, namely when he spoke about the obligation to do janabah bath which is caused by the release of semen, then we will understand the meaning of the expression water from water.

The first water means water for bathing, while the second water means semen. It means that the obligatory janabah bath is caused by the emission of semen.
