God Almighty raised the value and greatness of knowledge, singled out his generosity for his creation, urged his faithful servants to mobilize to gain understanding in the religion, and delegated them to warn his people, as he delegated to the people of his message, and granted them the inheritance of the people of his prophecy, and pleased them to carry out his argument, and on his behalf in informing his law. He chose them from among His servants for His fear. Then he commanded the rest of the people to question them and return to their sayings, and made the sign of their deviation and misguidance the going of their scholars.
Among these working scholars is Imam Ahmed bin Muhammad bin Hanbal, may God have mercy on him, the Mufti of the nation, the imam of the Sunnis, may God single him out for abundant grace, fragrant thoughts, and complete knowledge. And make them prosperous in this world and obey them to his Lord.
In this application, most of what this learned imam said in matters of belief and monotheism, as well as interpretation and the sciences of the Holy Qur’an, were collected.
