Narrated by Theresia Enzensberger, the interactive story "Who was Wilhelm?" take part in important moments in the life of the artist Wilhelm Lehmbruck (1881-1919).

With this app, the Lehmbruck Museum makes it possible to get to know the “person” Wilhelm Lehmbruck. Looking back, a person's biography often seems coherent and self-evident. But behind every step in life there is a decision.

As a player, you now become an actor. Your decisions determine the course of the story. The renowned author Theresia Enzensberger has written a captivating story based on true events from Lehmbruck's biography. You immerse yourself in his time and accompany the artist through the ups and downs of his eventful life, get to know friends and contemporaries and gain insights into the creative process of his works.

The app "Who was Wilhelm?" can be played intuitively by anyone who is interested, no prior knowledge of gaming is required. It was developed together with the Berlin indie studio Paintbucket Games.

"Who was William?" was created as part of the "dive in. program for digital interactions" of the German Federal Cultural Foundation, funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media (BKM) in the "Neustart Kultur" program.
