GHOSTS IN THE MACHINE, OLD ZOO is a site specific, AR experience delivered via smartphone app. It invites participants to visit the Old Zoo in Griffith Park and engage in a unique journey with “the otherside.” Throughout the experience, users will encounter and engage with spectral entities using the app’s AR interface.

This is a site-specific experience designed for the Old Zoo picnic area in Griffith Park.

The AR experience requires daylight in order to recognize waypoints.
Bring weather appropriate clothing, good walking shoes, sunscreen, a hat, and water.
Duration: Approximately 30min
Content warnings: The experience centers on themes of loss and death. Viewer discretion is advised.
Accessibility: The experience takes place in a public park. The terrain is easy and there are well kept walking trails. The experience requires users to traverse some grass and go up a small incline.
